Greg Manchester

I began playing music in my uncle’s church when I was about 13. The guy that taught me my first chords on guitar gave me very little instruction in an attempt to discourage me because he didn’t think I was serious about playing.
Three years later he started a band touring the southern states from Texas to South Carolina with me as his lead guitarist and background vocalist. At the young age of 17, I had the privilege of going to Nashville to record an album with this band: boy what an experience for a kid. I knew what I wanted to do with my life!
Most of my music study has been focused on country music and old rock. Over the last few years I played with several groups around Louisiana and have also taught guitar.
I joined Fantasy as the lead guitarist and vocalist. We played a wide variety of music. This forced me to “expand my horizons” by learning some types of music I have never played. I've learned a lot and had a wonderful time recording the newest CD "Puttin The Hammer Down" by S.T.C. You never stop learning in this business and I think the trick to that is staying hungry for more knowledge and being open to new ideas, and of course practice, practice, practice.
